Picture this - you’re sitting on your front porch at 75, watching the sunset adorn the sky in orange and gold. Your back is straight, your joints move freely and you’re not counting pills or scheduling doctor visits. That Vision? It starts with the choices you’re making right now . Your body is like a faithful friend who has been with you since day one and just like any friendship, it deserves respect and kindness. When we’re young, we often think we are invincible. We push through pain, ignore warning signs, and treat our bodies like they’re replaceable. But here’s the gentle truth: every choice echoes into our future. That doesn’t mean, living in fear or wrapping yourself in bubble wrap! It means listening when your body whispers before it has to shout. It means choosing nourishing foods most of the time, moving in ways that bring you joy, getting enough sleep, and managing stress with the care you show a dear friend. You might think of it as writing love notes to your future self. Each mindful choice is a note saying, “I see you, I value you, and I’m taking care of what will one day be yours. “ Your 75-year-old self is out there, waiting to thank you for the wisdom you’re cultivating now. What gift will you give today? If you are blessed to live to a ripe old age, that senior citizen you’ll one day be will be so grateful for the care you gave your body while you were young. Start small, be consistent, and remember, it’s never too late to begin treating your body with the reference it deserves.
