Children learn so much more from watching you than from listening to you talk. They see everything you do-how you act when things go wrong. How you treat other people, and whether you keep your promises. When you work hard even on bad days, you teach them to never give up. When you’re nice to everyone even people who aren’t nice to you, you show them what a good person looks like. When you chase your dreams, but still make time for your family, you show them how to live a balanced life . The best teaching happens during normal times like when you get bad news at work and discuss it calmly and optimistically at dinner, or when you promise to do something and you actually do it. Or when your plans don’t work out and you figure out what to do next. Your kids don’t need you to be perfect. They need you to be real. Show them that successful people make mistakes too. Show them that growing up means learning new things, saying I’m sorry when you mess up, and being happy for other people when good things happen to them. You’re not trying to make them exactly like you. You’re giving them ideas about how to live a good life. When they see you working at a job you care about, being kind to people, and always trying to get better, they learn that life is about always growing and learning. What you do every day teaches them how to live. Just by working hard to make every day count carries with it an awesome lesson for our children. Never stop trying to grow and become better. That's how you live your best life!
